Blizzard Entertainment is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all player interactions, including those with our Customer Support team. To maintain this standard, we expect all players to communicate appropriately and follow Customer Support Interaction Policies when reaching out to us.

Players who engage in the behaviors outlined below may be subject to penalties on their Battle.net account.

Using Offensive Language, Images, or Threats

Using offensive language, offensive images, or threats directed toward Customer Support staff is inappropriate and considered harassment. The determination of what is considered offensive content or a threat is at the sole discretion of Blizzard Entertainment.

Submitting Multiple Tickets or Spamming

Submitting multiple tickets, or spamming, on an issue which has previously been addressed by Customer Support is unproductive. Such behavior may include submitting tickets with gibberish, copy and paste from previous tickets, repeated appeals, and making demands for resolutions which are out of our scope of support.

Disobeying or Ignoring Instructions

Disobeying or ignoring instructions from Customer Support to perform, or restrain from performing, certain actions.

Defrauding or Attempting to Defraud

Attempts to defraud include, but are not limited to, misdirecting attention, withholding information, providing false information, and any attempt to trick Customer Support.

Violations of these policies, or any other area of the Blizzard Terms of Use, may result in formal warning, temporary Battle.net account suspension or permanent Battle.net account closure. Our goal is to maintain a fair, respectful, and efficient support experience for everyone. We appreciate your cooperation.

Game Master Interaction Guide

Game Masters may contact you in-game to assist with your support ticket. A Game Master will never ask you to do anything that would compromise your account or personal information. To protect players and ensure secure experience, please review how official Game Master interactions appear in World of Warcraft.

In-Game Chat Appearance

When a Game Master contacts you in-game, a GM Chat Request icon will appear in the upper-right corner of your screen. This icon flashes blue when a message is received.

Note: Some third-party UI modifications can interfere with how Game Master’s messages are displayed. If you do not see the GM Chat Request icon, please restore your UI to its default settings.

In the chat window, the GM’s name will include a tag.

If you're offline or unavailable when a Game Master reaches out, a response may be sent via in-game mail to the character who submitted the ticket. You can also view responses on your Ticket Status page. Please check both before reopening or submitting a new ticket.

Impersonating a Game Master

Some players may falsely claim to be Game Masters to mislead or take advantage of others. If someone does not display the official indicators outlined above, they are not a Blizzard Entertainment employee. Do not engage with them, use the in-game tools to report and block the player immediately.
